It can be made with any strawberry, but it is sublime with Oregon berries. 1 large box berries pinch salt 1 1/3c. water 1 T. lemon juice ¼ c. cornstarch red food color ¾ c. water baked pie shell Bring sugar and 1/2c. water to a boil. Dissolve cornstarch in 3/4c. water; add to sugar syrup and cook 10 min., stirring often, over med. heat until thickened and clear. Add salt, lemon juice, and coloring.
